Pastor Scott grew up in Garrett Park, MD as the son of Danish immigrants. As the first member of his family born in the United States, Scott deeply loves his Danish heritage, which is balanced as a proud American. He deeply loves sports and was a three-sport athlete in high school where he was the starting Goalkeeper on the 1986 Maryland State Championship soccer team. Scott has officiated High School and NCAA Men’s Basketball since 1992.
Education/Professional Background: Scott has a BS degree in Business Management and graduated with honors with a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. Before entering a career in ministry, Scott worked in Sales Leadership positions for Global 500 companies for 25+ years including Konica Minolta and Sharp. Scott also worked as a Courtside Administrator in Referee Operations with the NBA for four years before entering full-time ministry as a second career.
Scott began his ministry in 2020 and was appointed to Herndon United Methodist Church. He was moved to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on July 1, 2024. Scott has a deep love for what he is doing and loves to connect with people, help guide them on their faith journey, and celebrate the joys and challenges that life brings. Scott served as a Chaplain with the Herndon Police Department since 2022.
Personal: Scott has been married to his wife Michele since June of 2000 and they have three daughters (two in college and one in high school), and a puppy named Charlie.

Personal Mission: To love people in my community and shepherd them to find their place in God's story and to put God's love into action through worship, spiritual growth, and service to all of God's children.
